Layaway Terms

Layaway at Vintessa

Layaway lets you reserve a bag with a deposit and pay the rest in scheduled installments. There is no credit check and no interest, because this is not a loan. We simply hold your bag until it is paid in full.

By choosing layaway at checkout, you agree to these terms.

How it works

Choose layaway at checkout. Pay a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total price.
Your bag is reserved. Once the deposit clears, the bag is removed from sale on our website and Instagram.
Installments are charged automatically. The remaining balance is split into 3 equal payments, charged every two weeks to the card you used at checkout.
Plan length. Every plan must be paid in full within 8 weeks of the deposit.
We ship once it’s paid. Your bag ships within 2 business days of the final payment. Shipping is included.

You’ll get an email reminder before each payment. You can pay off your balance early at any time with no fee.

Non-refundable deposit

Your deposit is non-refundable. Each of our bags is one of a kind, and while it’s reserved for you we turn away other buyers.

If your plan is cancelled for any reason, by you or because of missed payments, we keep the deposit. Installments you have already paid are handled as described under missed payments and cancellation.

Missed payments and cancellation

Failed payment. If an installment fails, we’ll email you and retry the charge within 3 days. You can update your card through the customer portal link in your emails.
Grace period. If the payment still hasn’t gone through 7 days after its due date, your plan is cancelled.
What happens on cancellation. Your bag goes back on sale. We keep the deposit and refund any installments you’ve already paid, minus a $25 cancellation fee, within 5 to 10 business days.
Cancelling yourself. You can cancel at any time by emailing vintessahandbags@gmail.com. The same terms apply.

Returns and other terms

Final sale. Like all Vintessa bags, layaway purchases are final sale once delivered.
One bag per plan. Each layaway plan covers one item, and layaway is available on bags priced $500 and up. Discount codes cannot be used with layaway.
Condition. The bag ships in the same condition described in its listing at the time of your deposit.
Disputes. Please contact us at vintessahandbags@gmail.com before disputing a charge with your bank. By choosing layaway, you authorize us to charge your saved card on the scheduled dates.
